Farm Watch
Sir Lowry’s Pass Farmwatch is a rural farm watch with a wide patrol area from the Mountains above Knorhoek to Chris Nissen Park. Entirely made up of local community volunteers , Farm Watch help contribute to the community’s safety and well-being by doing planned patrols and operations in areas of concern, sometimes with Law Enforcement and SAPS. Additionally they undertake other projects, such as;
Raising funds for community projects like flood relief and fire assistance.
Running a Farm Watch Animal Response Unit with experienced rescuers to help animals in need, and provide food and kennels.
Collaborating with CEM through their Disaster Management Leader, Steve Chadwick, and receiving training from the City of Cape Town.
Connecting their radio network with Helderberg Community Watch (HCW), armed response companies, and local farmers. Collecting and sharing crime statistics with the relevant authorities.
